Look Development with Prelight
29 March 2017
Prelight is FilmLight’s new macOS application for DoPs and other creatives to author, apply and modify looks. It can import a multitude of professional formats, even from photo cameras used during a shoot, and apply the same underlying colour science as full FilmLight applications with the same decode methods, debayer parameters and image processing.
This workshop will be held at 6pm and will cover:
Presentation and Q&A on colour space management with FilmLight's Thomas Eberschveiler.
Coffee break with light sandwiches.
Demonstration of Prelight, plus live exchange of looks/BLG grades between Prelight and Baselight, with Pentti Keskimäki, Colourist F.S.C. at Post Control.
Pentti will also show his favourite tools in the colour grading system - including some of the new features in the upcoming Baselight 5.0 release.
Baselight 5.0 brings a new level in colour and creativity. Key to the new release is the Base Grade - a primary grading operator for modern colour workflows and HDR. Baselight 5.0 also blurs the line between traditional colour correction and VFX with new features such as paint, perspective tracking, warping, depth keying, relighting and many others.
The BLG is a multi-track OpenEXR file format that you can use to create, transfer and review looks. It interoperates fully with Baselight, Prelight, FLIP, Daylight and even Baselight Editions within Avid or NUKE, but you can use it as a review format without any FilmLight hardware or software.
Entry to this event is free but you must register.
