BIRTV 2023. 23-26 August 2023

FilmLight at BIRTV 2023

23-26 August 2023
Stand #8B38

Wolfgang Lempp, co-founder and CEO, FilmLight

After a four year absence due to the pandemic and associated travel restrictions, FilmLight is happy to take part again in the 30th Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Equipment Exhibition BIRTV at the China International Exhibition Center, Beijing (stand 8B36). Our local team will be supported by product specialists and management from the head office in London.

New this year will be Baselight 6.0, the long-awaited major software update including the revolutionary look operator Chromogen and primary grading tool X Grade, together with a wide range of new features and productivity improvements as well as extensive integration of machine learning (ML) support, scheduled for release next month.

We will also introduce our new 8th generation hardware line-up based on the latest CPUs and GPUs, optimised for a future-proof and easy upgrade to take full advantage of the productivity benefits of ML.

But the focus of the show will be to strengthen our Chinese partnerships, and to renew and reconfirm our longstanding relations with our Chinese customers. FilmLight prides itself in the close relationship it has with our customers all over the world. There is no question the last years have been difficult for FilmLight to maintain the frequent and open dialogue at the heart of this relationship. At the same time, business for our customers in China has been hard, and we hope that despite geo-political and economical headwinds we will continue to build on our presence in this country.

Since our last BIRTV, FilmLight has launched the “FilmLight Colour Awards”, a competition to honour and recognise the outstanding contribution colourists can make to the quality and success of broadcast, TV and film. Now in its third year, FilmLight is grateful to have the endorsement and support of the Chinese Society of Cinematographers (CSC), as well as having many Chinese colourists submitting their projects this year.

High quality visual content is a universal language, understood and appreciated across the world. We are proud to be able to contribute to the creation of quality content, and we will continue to do so through innovation and support of our customers. We are looking forward to meeting our Chinese customers, partners, colleagues and friends at BIRTV!
