FilmLight, a leading provider of digital technology, announced today that Digicinema Poland has made a major investment in FilmLight products to create an end-to-end real-time 4K workflow.
The investment includes FilmLight’s new 4K Northlight 2 film scanner with Infra red option, a 32TB Baselight EIGHT grading system, and Truelight colour management. Completing the system is FilmLight’s new DCI compliant Cinema4K framestore, uniquely allowing direct connection to Digicinema’s Sony 4K projector.
After five months of evaluating all available scanners and grading systems, Digicinema chose FilmLight because of the quality of Northlight scans and FilmLight’s leading position, real-time 4K grading performance of the Baselight EIGHT.
A spokesperson for Digicinema commented “FilmLight was the only company that could offer us a fully integrated real-time 4K workflow, which was both DCI compliant and fully colour calibrated”.
Digicinema is the first European company to install FilmLight’s complete DCI compliant 4K grading system, and the first to use this combination with a custom designed connection to the Sony 4K projector.
