Comprehensive grading solutions at every stage on display in Argentina
FilmLight, alongside its Argentine reseller IPLUSB, is using CAPER 2014 to demonstrate its latest colour grading solutions, designed to seamlessly integrate with today’s evolving workflows (IPLUSB stand, A38, Costa Salguero Exhibition Center, Buenos Aires, 29-31 October 2014).
“We have a whole host of customers here who rely on FilmLight and we’re looking forward to demonstrating the full power of our colour grading solutions and showing how our workflows can transform the professional post-production process, getting the content on screen faster,” said Manuel Puig Lopez, Account Manager and Product Specialist at FilmLight.
FilmLight’s renderless and colour-accurate framework makes it possible to control, communicate and finesse image creation ‘at every stage’ from set, to editorial, VFX and post-production.
A key part of this framework is Daylight. Launched at IBC2014, Daylight is FilmLight’s comprehensive solution for on-set and near-set production. It is designed as a compact yet powerful grading decision tool to help DoPs and directors establish looks and visualise what they have shot, on set or on location.
Available to purchase in Q1 2015, Daylight encompasses a number of new features, including: AJA SDI output; shot filtering and sorting; HTML report generation; RED GPU decoding; media consolidation tools; multi-format deliverables; and, just like Baselight, support for the latest camera codecs.
Also on display at CAPER 2014 will be Baselight Editions, which provide the world’s most advanced colour grading toolset as a plugin within professional editing and VFX packages. Baselight Editions is available for Avid, FCP 7 and the soon-to-be launched Baselight for NUKE. Baselight for NUKE gives VFX artists the ability to accurately preview fully graded shots, resulting in better compositing control while alleviating the need for time-consuming amends due to changes made in colour correction.
Visitors will also be able to see Baselight ONE, the diskless tower system that forms a complete grading and finishing solution with an internal 2TB solid-state cache and fast connections to the facility storage network – and Slate, FilmLight’s revolutionary compact grading panel which uses the same precision, ergonomics and reliability as a full-size Blackboard 2 panel, but in a smaller form factor and at a lower price point.
FilmLight is on the IPLUSB stand (A38) at the leading regional broadcast and media exhibition, CAPER 2014 – Costa Salguero Exhibition Center, Buenos Aires, 29-31 October 2014.
