FilmLight Kicks-Off Six City European Tour

Latest solutions on display in Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich

FilmLight will be demonstrating its latest products and developments in six cities throughout Europe, from 14 May – 11 June 2013. The tour will demonstrate how its award-winning colour grading software and colour management systems can provide a ‘colour pipeline’ at every stage of production.

The tour will kick-off in Amsterdam on 14 May at the Umsjatka Studios, with sessions being held at 11:00 and 15:00. Sessions will continue at the same times in Brussels at the VRT NV on 16 May, and then take place at the Ludwig Kameraverleih GmbH for the remainder of the tour; Cologne – 23 May; Hamburg – 29 May; Berlin – 4 June; and Munich – 11 June.

The tour will feature the company’s latest products and solutions, including the new Baselight ONE deskside grading system and Slate compact control panel, which were introduced at the recent NAB 2013 exhibition in Las Vegas. Baselight ONE is a diskless, 4U tower system with the full Baselight creative toolset, and a 2TB solid-state internal cache that guarantees impressive processing performance.

Slate is FilmLight’s new compact grading control panel designed with both Baselight and Baselight Editions in mind. It draws on the success of the revolutionary Blackboard 2 panel, and retains all the quality, precision and ergonomic convenience but in a smaller form factor and at a lower price point.

Also featured during the tour will be the Baselight Editions, which put the creative power of the Baselight grading toolset – as well as support for the new Slate control panel – inside Avid, Final Cut Pro 7 and NUKE systems. The tour will include the eagerly awaited Baselight for Avid Windows, which was also introduced at NAB 2013.

Attendees will also be able to see the latest version of FLIP, the real time on-set preview system. The new FLIP is a smaller and sleeker device and can now be battery powered for location shoots. It takes away the guesswork of digital cinematography, applying colour correction on-set to help visualise exactly what has been shot. The colour correction is a BLG file so the director’s first thoughts become the foundation for the final grade.

The tour is running in partnership with Dolby, who will be showcasing the Emmy award-winning Dolby Professional Reference Monitor PRM-4200.
