At IBC 2003 FilmLight, the UK based company that is rapidly becoming acknowledged as both a leader and an innovator in Digital Intermediate film post-production market, will exhibit at the show for the first time. FilmLight will display a range of products that deliver uncompromising quality, ease of integration and significant productivity benefits including Northlight and its two new products Truelight and Baselight, launched at NAB 2003.
Northlight is the industry’s fastest, highest-quality film scanner. Delivering unmatched performance and easy integration into filmmakers’ workflow, Northlight has become the standard in digital film mastering technology. First installed at DKP (IMAX) in 2001, the 65mm Northlight scanner was closely followed by the 35mm debut at Framestore CFC. To date 16 Northlight scanners have been commissioned and delivered to clients worldwide.
Truelight will make its European premiere at IBC 2003. This uniquely accurate, no-compromise, colour management system enables motion picture imaging professionals to grade and render digitised materials correctly onto film. FilmLight created Truelight to enable pre-visualisation of final projected film images on electronic displays, and in response to the industry demand for improved image quality and workflow.
Baselight will also be shown for the first time in Europe at IBC 2003. Baselight is a new software package of colour grading and film finishing tools for the digital film lab, targeted directly at the digital intermediate market. Pre-released versions of the software have already been employed on several high profile projects including the Harry Potter series, Resident Evil, Neverland, Tomb Raider II, Thunderbirds, Bright Young Things and Cold Mountain.
