“For Commercials, It’s the Best System Available” says CEO Anders Hägglund
Morgankane, one of the largest suppliers of post-production services in Scandinavia, has invested in a Baselight HD from FilmLight enabling it to offer colour grading services for the first time. The company intends to provide the service to its commercial clients in Scandinavia and Europe generally. Ultimately, it plans to also pursue colour grading work for television programs and feature films.
The move is part of a larger effort by Morgankane to upgrade and broaden the scope of its services and enables it to offer a complete, one-stop solution for commercial post-production. In addition to colour grading, the company provides off-line and on-line editorial, compositing, visual effects, 3D and audio mixing services. It has provided post services for commercials for such brands as Stella Artois, Mc Donalds, Sony Ericsson and Burger King.
Prior to selecting Baselight, Morgankane conducted an extensive evaluation involving several leading software-based colour grading solutions. The company carried out months long trials with each system before concluding that Baselight best met its current and future needs. “We realised that for commercials, Baselight is the best system available,” said Morgankane CEO Anders Hägglund. “It is extremely stable, offers a great set of features and provides the best road map to the future.”
Hägglund added that Baselight’s robust feature set, support for collaborative work environments, and straightforward upgrade path all distinguished it from other colour grading solutions. He also noted that the support structure provided by FilmLight was exemplary and played a determinative role in his company’s decision.
