Los Angeles based post-production infrastructure specialist—Film + Data Design have selected FilmLight’s complete product range for a yet to be named client. The total investment worth $2.6 million included—three Baselight colour grading systems, two Northlight pin-registered film scanners and site-wide Truelight licenses with Truelight probes; these systems will form the foundation of a new state-of-the-art facility specialising in 2K and 4K data.
Film + Data prepared a custom DI workflow and evaluated a number of products that would best fulfil the needs of their client. They found the combination of Northlight, Baselight and Truelight enabled them to obtain the required quality and performance to achieve the client’s goals.

Installed in over 60 high-profile studios worldwide, the Northlight can handle any output format, crop, or aspect ratio up to 6K resolution. Baselight HD is designed for fast, creative video grading and finishing, but, with no resolution restrictions, can also be used as part of a film pipeline with the addition of Truelight.
“2K and 4K capabilities are a must in today’s DI world and by utilising multiple features from the system in conjunction with the efficiency of the system, this provides an incredible ROI for our clients,” stated Sanders.
