And extend your sales reach to new markets and provide innovative solutions to companies working in every aspect of media production.
“FilmLight is in great shape,” says FilmLight Head of Marketing Mark Burton. “We arrive at NAB on target for another year of double digit growth and in a dominant market position.”
At NAB 2010, FilmLight will be demonstrating its products in the Paramount Suite at The Renaissance Las Vegas. The company will also be participating in technology demonstrations in conjunction with Sony Electronics (Booth C1101) and Glookast (Booth SL1429).
FilmLight is also introducing a new version of its non-linear colour grading system—Baselight—at a groundbreaking price of $95,000 that includes full support for the latest file-based workflows from capture to finish. The company is also previewing its Baselight 4.2 software, which includes unique and highly innovative tools for stereoscopic 3D grading.
In tandem with Sony, FilmLight will use its Truelight On-Set and Baselight systems to demonstrate the speed, quality and infrastructure cost saving benefits of the new Sony HDCAM SR file-based workflows including native support for the MPEG-4 Simple Studio Profile (SStP) codec.
Although these are challenging times for companies across all sectors, the 8-year-old London-based developer of colour grading, colour management and film scanning technology can point to a string of recent successes.
In addition to the stunning achievement of its team members being recognised with four 2010 AMPAS Sci-Tech Awards, the company was named Outstanding Exporter of the Year and Technology Exporter of the Year at the 2010 London Export Awards.
FilmLight is also announcing new sales to leading post-production companies worldwide, including:

- LaserPacific Media, which is adding a second Baselight EIGHT to its industry-leading 4K film mastering workflow (whose recent successes included re-masters of Saving Private Ryan and Gladiator).

FilmLight’s success has been driven both by innovative technology and its unsurpassed commitment to customer service and support. “FilmLight understands our business in its entirety—not just scanning and colour grading,” observes Ron Burdett, general manager of LaserPacific’s film mastering department. “As a result their products are conceived on a much higher level than competing technologies.”
