FilmLight Ltd. a world-leading pioneer of digital film technology, is delighted to announce that it is one of the winners of this year’s prestigious European Information Society Technologies (IST) Prize.
Now in its tenth year and organised by Euro-CASE, a non-profit organisation made up of national academies of Engineering, Technologies and Applied Sciences from eighteen European countries, and with the support and sponsorship of the IST programme and the European Commission, the European IST Prize is awarded to only twenty of the very best companies in the IST field. FilmLight, whose Northlight, Baselight and Truelight digital film technologies are revolutionising movie production, was chosen as one of the winners from amongst a field of hundreds and will thus receive a €5000 award and be invited to exhibit its products in the European IST Prize Winners Village at the 2004 IST Event in The Hague from 15-17 November.
Three Grand Prize winners will then be selected from among the 20 winners so far. They will each receive €200,000 and the European IST Prize Trophy at an Awards Ceremony in Brussels in early 2005.
“We are extremely pleased to receive this prize, especially given the IST Programme’s reputation for supporting both industry innovation and market potential,” comments FilmLight Commercial Director, Peter Stothart. “It’s an excellent testament to all that we are doing at FilmLight and we are delighted to rank amongst the best Europe has to offer.”
