Latest version of Nara boasts new features designed to further streamline media workflows and enhance collaboration for creative teams
Nara, a FilmLight venture, today announced a suite of groundbreaking new features to further streamline media workflows and enhance collaboration. The latest version of Nara, which provides sophisticated and immediate access to media from anywhere, will be on display during IBC 2024 (Amsterdam, 13-16 September 2024) at Hotel INNSiDE, as well as partner booths in the RAI.
In one simplified solution, Nara allows previously complicated and time-consuming tasks, such as progress reviews, approvals and compliance processes, to take place with speed and ease – saving facilities valuable time and money in the creative process. From editors, colourists, VFX artists, cinematographers, producers and directors, to clients and marketing managers, Nara truly enhances and speeds up creative collaboration. At the heart of Nara is its ability to natively decode and play back media without the need to transcode to proxy files; colour accurate streaming; a comprehensive back-end index; unparalleled codec support and more.
“We’re committed to providing new features that meet the needs and enhance the daily operation of our creative industry,” says Sam Lempp, Nara’s Head of Business Development. “The new version of Nara continues to lead the way in media workflow innovation – helping our customers more efficiently and cost-effectively deliver outstanding images for their clients. We look forward to showcasing the new toolset to IBC visitors in September.”
With the latest version of Nara, users can now stream media directly to clients’ external devices, while guaranteeing full colour accuracy. For clients requiring an impromptu review session, instant client feedback, or for those struggling to book a professional suite, this feature provides the client with immediate, effortless and accurate access to media – further enhancing seamless collaboration and improved workflows, without compromising on quality.
Also new to Nara is an enhanced integration with Baselight, FilmLight’s leading colour grading solution, which allows users to view critical scene information remotely. Users can now view active scenes at any time and access crucial information from anywhere – enabling them to view scene files and associated metadata, and stream images within the scene. This integration bridges the gap between physical and remote access and ensures everyone is on the same page while improving team coordination and efficiency.
Nara’s improved project features allow users to see all media within a project in a single window, control project access (improving security while minimising distractions and enhancing focus), implement custom colour pipelines (including industry-standard options like ACES 2.0), and utilise custom project templates to tailor workflows to specific needs (such as file types, input colour space, format mapping and more).
Finally, Nara now integrates a new tiered user support feature, which allows users to be assigned specific roles, determining their access and features within the Nara system. This new feature simplifies user management, enhances security and control over project data and, by lowering the barrier to entry for new users, it also facilitates smoother onboarding for new team members.
The Nara team will be at IBC 2024 in Amsterdam from 13-16 September 2024, holding Nara demos at Hotel INNSiDE by Melia. Nara will also be on the show floor at the RAI on the following booths: AWS (5.C90), pixitmedia (5.H79), and Quantum (7.B55). For more info or to book a demo, click here.
