The macOS version of 5.3 continues to work with Media Composer 2024.12 and later on Intel Macs, to run this version on an Apple Silicon Mac you must make sure to set Media Composer to 'Open using Rosetta'; use Finder to get the info for the Avid Media Composer app and set this option.
Floating Licence Server
If you are using Baselight for Avid with a floating licence server, you must also have one of the following:
- Mac server running macOS 10.14 and later, or
- Linux server running RHEL/CentOS 6 and later

Note: You can use Baselight for Avid as a Free Reader without a licence. To access the grading interface, you must obtain a licence. Visit our Web Store to purchase a permanent licence or download a 30-day trial licence.
