An enviable success: the launch of Envy Post Production
Building the largest and most high tech production facility London has seen for 12 years is a big task, to do it from a start up is a bit ambitious. Yet this is what Dave Cadle, a respected figure in the world of Post Production set out to do about 15 months ago. Business is thriving at Envy Post Production and it has developed from 36 operational rooms to 63, across 2 sites in the space of 15 months.
Dave Cadle began life as a technical operator and eventually moved over to VTR and was asked to set up a company which he named Blue Post Production. "Blue was owned by a plc and there was no real potential for advancement for me as a key player, my staff associated the business with me and wanted more involvement and action within it so I set up the task of building up a privately owned company that could incorporate the staff. Envy was born, and out of the 42 staff we opened up with, 15 have financial involvement within Envy which attracted them to the company and motivates them," Cadle said.
Envy is rightly proud of an innovative team of over 80 professionals each of whom represents the industry-leading benchmark for talent across the spectrum. From triple Bafta winning senior dubbing mixer Bob Jackson and recent Broadcast nominees for Hot Shots, Alex Lea, Dave Williams and Dougal Oldfield to Senior Grader Jonathan Lieb, all enhance the credentials of a close knit team whose portfolio is as diverse as it is consummately produced: BBC's The Tower, Mayavision's 'The Story of India' and Louis Theroux's 'Plastic Surgery' are a few projects Envy has worked on.
Envy now has over 80 staff and provides various operational areas including off-line AVID editing, Final Cut Pro, DS Nitris, Baselight Grading, Smoke, 3D and Audio including Dolby licensed studios. Envy has just opened a second site in Margaret Street (opened July 2007).
